Glenelg Libraries Change Lives - New Borrower Benefits

Library and Information Week 2019 will see the introduction of a number of changes at Glenelg Libraries.

From Monday 20 May, library members will get the following benefits as part of their membership:

- Introduction of newly designed Junior/Youth and Adult Library cards free of charge, with Junior/Youth cards offering “fine-free’ borrowing.

- Automatic renewals for borrowers and option for email or SMS messages to be sent outlining full details of borrowed items.

- All library items now available for a three-week period and able to be renewed (up to two times) including new releases (formerly two-week loans), CDs and DVDs. Please note: As per previous, items with holds will not be able to be extended.

- Launch of new free film and TV streaming service Kanopy, offering on-demand streaming of a large collection of award-winning films and documentaries for library members.

Glenelg Libraries continues to strive to create a service that is more accessible and supportive of the community of members who support the library.

As part of the Libraries Change Lives state-wide promotion to boost the awareness and importance of public libraries, the changes are aimed at bringing new people in and saying thanks to the people who already visit.
