Join us for a cup of tea and piece of cake at our annual fundraiser to raise money for the Cancer Council of Australia.

 

WEDNESDAY – 23 MAY

National Simultaneous Storytime with special guest Mayor Cr Anita Rank

National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). Come along to the Portland Library and hear special guest Mayor Councillor Anita Rank read this year’s book Hickory Dickory Dash written by Tony Wilson and illustrated by Laura Wood, which will be read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country.

Come and try Tai Chi with Brenda from BFF Studios

‘Find yourself’ some inner peace with an early morning Tai Chi session in the library. Featuring Tai Chi by Brenda from BFF Studios followed by a free light breakfast for participants.

Storytime with Emma from the Portland Arts Centre – Josephine Wants to Dance

Come along and enjoy the story Josephine Wants to Dance with special guest Emma from the Portland Arts Centre. This is a chance to catch up on this hugely popular children’s book before you go along and see the brand new Australian musical based on the book by Jackie French and Bruce Whatley at the Portland Arts Centre, on Tuesday 29 May at 6.30pm. With one family pass for the musical to be given away to a lucky participant this is a storytime not to be missed.
